About Us

The first Methodist meetings in Fairfield were led by circuit rider, Jesse Herbert in 1840.  The first church was built in 1848 on the Southeast corner of B and Washington streets.

The current structure at 201 North Court Street was dedicated April 13, 1924 after a congregational split that lasted seven years. Explore the captivating journey of Methodism in Fairfield and discover the profound impact it has had on our community.

Our Mission & Vision

Knowing Christ, sharing His love, and helping others to know Him.

Oasis Network Church

At Fairfield FIrst United Methodist Church, we are proud of our United Methodist affiliation and heritage.  We have no plans for disaffiliation and welcome all people. We are an Oasis Congregation for those whose churches have chosen to disaffiliate. If you’re looking for a church home or just a place to catch your breath – you are welcome here.  We look forward to seeing what God has in store for us as we continue to pursue our mission of knowing Christ, sharing His love, and helping others to know Him.

Paint for Little Free Pantry

The Missions Committee received approval from the Ad Council and Trustees to put up a Little Free Pantry on our property.  Francis Horn built one for them and is ready to enhance the outside.  They are in need of leftover washable exterior paint in various colors, such as yellow, blue, green, orange, pint, or red.  They would prefer to not have to purchase the paint as they will just need a small amount of each.  If you can help, please call Claudette Dorrell at 472-3034.  Thank you for helping with this project.  Be on the lookout for plans to fill the pantry soon!

Do You Have Church Spirit?

Want to help show our community your enthusiasm for our church?  Then purchase a t-shirt and wear it around Fairfield.  Designed by our very own, David Kraemer, these shirts are available in youth sizes and adult sizes Xs-4XL. Order forms need to be turned in by September 27.
