Fairfield First United Methodist Church
About Us
The first Methodist meetings in Fairfield were led by circuit rider, Jesse Herbert in 1840. The first church was built in 1848 on the Southeast corner of B and Washington streets.
The current structure at 201 North Court Street was dedicated April 13, 1924 after a congregational split that lasted seven years. Explore the captivating journey of Methodism in Fairfield and discover the profound impact it has had on our community.
Our Mission & Vision
Knowing Christ, sharing His love, and helping others to know Him.
Oasis Network Church
At Fairfield FIrst United Methodist Church, we are proud of our United Methodist affiliation and heritage. We have no plans for disaffiliation and welcome all people. We are an Oasis Congregation for those whose churches have chosen to disaffiliate. If you’re looking for a church home or just a place to catch your breath – you are welcome here. We look forward to seeing what God has in store for us as we continue to pursue our mission of knowing Christ, sharing His love, and helping others to know Him.
