(Some churches may have more than one so look carefully!) Write down the name of the church you found the picture at by that scripture!!
Help for Research Study
A member of our congregation, Sylvia Richards, is conducting a research study and has asked for our help. The purpose of the study is to explore how one’s experience of Christianity helps to develop faith and sustain faith over time.
All adults (18 years and up) in Jefferson County with a Christian background are eligible to participate in the study.
This study is limited to Jefferson County, but not limited to the United Methodist Church. All adults from any of the churches in Jefferson County are invited to participate, as well as those who don’t attend any church, as long as they have some background with the Christian tradition.
I would like to have as broad a range of participants as possible–those who attend church every Sunday as well as those who seldom or never attend (and everyone in between).
There are two phases to this study:
- An online questionnaire that takes about 10 minutes to complete. People can participate directly online, or they can call or text me at 641-451-0527 to participate by phone. The link to the online survey is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ChristianResearch
- Phase Two is a followup to the questionnaire and involves a personal interview with the researcher (Sylvia Richards). It could be in person or on Zoom. Completing the online questionnaire does not obligate anyone to be interviewed.
Please invite all your friends in Jefferson County to participate in the online questionnaire. It is easy and fun! Talk to your friends, post on Facebook, or send an email. Thanks so much for your help!
Pastor Beth’s Last Sunday
Rev. Beth’s last Sunday to preach with us is scheduled for June 14. We would like to send her off in fashion, social distance fashion that is! We would like your help! We invite you to help us shower Rev. Beth with love via a card shower or hosting a small gathering online or in-person to show our appreciation for all she has done for our church. Please contact Carrie Brownlee with any questions.
In-person Worship Services Update
We tentatively will be offering IN-PERSON WORSHIP at our church facility outside our church in the parking lot on June 14th, 21st, and 28th. In the event of inclement weather, the outdoor service will be canceled, but we will have worship services as we have been doing these past weeks with only essential personnel. We will still be on the radio, 1570 AM KMCD, or Facebook Live on the Fairfield First United Methodist Church‘s page.
Listed below are our strict guidelines for our church which we are asking you to follow:
- Maintain 6 feet of social distancing between families.
- Masks are encouraged.
- Humming only during songs.
- No restrooms. The church will be LOCKED at ALL times.
As we move into the next phase at FUMC, we ask that you bear with us as we navigate this time. As a committee, we welcome any and all suggestions and will do our best to meet the needs of our congregation. Feel free to contact one of the committee members listed below with any questions or concerns. We look forward to OUTDOOR WORSHIP on June 14th to send Rev. Beth off in Fairfield STYLE!
Committee Members: Carrie Brownlee, Jim Flinspach, Kathy Horn, Angie Lamb, John Stever, Elly Stremsterfer, and Jay Thompson
